Work
hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As
slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. Work with
enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for
people. (Ephesians 6:6)
Did
that scripture seriously say to work with enthusiasm? Indeed it did! I
don’t know about you, but if you are like most people, you don’t always
work enthusiastically when doing your job or doing your daily routines.
Sometimes work becomes draining and boring. You may lose your passion for
it all together. You may in fact be longing for a change, unable to find fulfillment in your work the way you did when you
first began.
So,
my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work
enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the
Lord is ever useless. (1 Corinthians 15:58)
It’s
true that each day can seem like the same old thing. However if we
change our perspective a bit and remember who our boss ultimately is, we
can begin to see things through His eyes and not our own. When we are working for the Lord with a spirit of excellence, the reward is
great. The Lord has proven that when we are faithful with what is before us, He expands our territory and rewards our efforts.
Whether
you are a stay at home mom, business man, or a student, keep in mind who
your Boss is, and choose to work as though He is standing right beside
you. Ask God today to renew your passion for your daily work and duties.
Ask Him to give you a fresh outlook on your work and to give you a new
attitude while accomplishing your tasks.
